1. But First, Coffee
Tsawwassen has some amazing local coffee shops available for coffee and breakfast. There’s l’Aromas or the Wood’n’Frog, but perhaps closest to the trailhead is The Beach Grove Cafe, a quaint coffee shop that also features home decor, jewelry, and more. It’s a hot spot for cyclists who bask in the sunshine pre and post-ride.
From here, head north down Beach Grove Road until it meets 17th (ends here), and turn right down the path to enter the Boundary Bay Dyke trail system.
​2. Boundary Bay Dyke Trail
You’ve now popped in at the east entrance, and are in for a bike adventure as long as you wish to make it. This trail system can take you from Tsawwassen to Mud Bay if you’ve got it in you, or you can turn around at any point, taking advantage of benches along the way for rests and birdwatching opportunities. You’ll notice the trail is gravel, wide and seaside – a perfect ride and pitch for cyclists of all levels, including kids, and parents towing kids!
Keep your eyes open as this stretch of trail is part of the Pacific Flyway for migrating birds, eagles, hawks, snowy owls, and herons, not to mention expansive views of snow-capped Mt. Baker.

3. Apres on 56th Street
Tsawwassen’s 56th Street offers a myriad of cuisine options, from Roy’s Indian to Italian at Illuminate Restorante and Greek at Alpha. All offering patios, shareable plates, and pints.
Alpha is a family-friendly, casual restaurant with a large sunny patio out front, offering all the Greek cuisine favourites, from souvlaki platters to one amazing tzatziki and calamari combo. It’s a great apres bike spot to laugh among friends and recount your day on the trails. OPA!
