Tsawwassen’s village core is the kind of place where you park once and spend the whole afternoon on foot. You’ll find sunny sidewalks along 56th Street, a coffee in one hand and a shopping bag in the other. Let’s give you a glimpse into where the locals shop.
Start with a Coffee on 56th Street
On 56th Street sits Tsawwassen’s largest shopping complex, the Tsawwassen Centre Mall – a great place to start your journey. Start your tour of locally-owned boutique with Ma Maison & Co. Take time to discover every nook and cranny of this store as it’s packed with everything from Pyrrha jewelry and Corksicles, to closet finds from well-known and undiscovered brands. And yes, just like the door mat says, we hope you like dogs, as they have two of them ready to greet you and show you around.
Next door is Albany Books, Games & Toys, a Tsawwassen staple since 1985. Amazon may deliver overnight, but they can’t beat Albany’s long-time, enthusiastic staff. They’ve recently expanded, taking over the shop next door to include baby gifts, plush stuffies, toys galore, greeting cards, board games, and so much more!
For your closet, it’s off to Boutique Blanche. They’ll have you sorted head to toe with trendy outfits, shoes, and jewelry. BC brands like Gentle Fawn and Brunette the Label are staples here, as well as unique finds.
Around the bend, you’ll find Sublime Art Materials. Get inspired with tye-dye kits, and crafty activities to take home for the kids as well as any professional (or unprofessional) art supply you need!
Next, it’s off to Coastal Olive Oils & Co. for quality vinegars and oils, many infused with delicious flavours. Don’t leave without indulging in a tasting flight to find the one that suits you best. Finish off your Tsawwassen Centre Mall walkabout with a treat from The Chocolate Bear Shoppe. From Rogers Chocolates to imported British sweets, it’s reminiscent of an old-time candy shop.
Tsawwassen Restaurants Ready to Serve
All that browsing works up an appetite, and luckily you won’t have to go far. A short stretch of 56th Street is Tsawwassen’s own restaurant row, where you can eat your way around the world in a single block. Pick a table, or come back often enough to try them all.
Mario’s Kitchen
This is Tsawwassen’s go-to for good, honest comfort food. Think steaks, seafood, pizzas and pasta made fresh and served with a craft beer or a good glass of wine. Mario’s is open for brunch, lunch and dinner every day, and the heated, covered patio means patio season never really ends.
Gracie’s Next Door
Mario’s sister spot is right next door, as the name promises. Gracie’s is cozier and a little livelier, built for sharing plates, cocktails and catching up. Come by on a Friday or Saturday night for live music (5:30-8:30 PM), or make it a slow Sunday brunch. If you’re looking for deals – Happy Hour is always a good call, daily 3:30-5 PM.
Alfa Greco Roman Cuisine
A few doors down, Alfa brings Greek and Mediterranean favourites to the strip, along with pizza for the whole family. It’s generous, welcoming and exactly what you want after an afternoon on your feet.
Clay Oven
For more than 20 years, Connaught Place was South Delta’s Indian restaurant. Sukhvir and Satbir Bansal cooked their family recipes for a community that came back again and again. When Sukhvir retired, their son Harpo took over. In early 2025, he gave the restaurant a full renovation and a new name, Clay Oven. “Mama” Satbir still runs the kitchen, so the recipes regulars love haven’t changed. The naan and tandoori dishes come straight from the traditional clay oven that gives the restaurant its name, and the room is modern and warm. It’s Delta’s oldest Indian restaurant, and locals voted it one of the best.
Illuminate Restorante
With all that under your belt, it’s time to relax at Illuminate. Enjoy a taste of Tuscany and an ambiance that’s hard to beat. Pizzas, steak and seafood pair wonderfully with wine and specialty cocktails, especially out on the patio.
