1. North 40 Park, Ladner
North 40 Park Reserve on 72nd Street just off Ladner Trunk Road offers acres of off-leash freedom, with a 1.8 km looped trail, fields, wooded areas, and lots of eagle watching. Afterwards, you can take your pooch to the patio at Barnside Brewing, or for fresh-baked goods at Schoolhouse Farm (in season). Heading into Ladner Village? Your puppy is welcome to settle in streetside at Stir Coffee House and Café de Gourmet.
Afterwards, grab a treat for your pup at Pets-n-Us, then browse Black Bond Books and Muddy River Landing on 48th Avenue, where your well-behaved dog is welcome!
2. Beach Grove Park, Tsawwassen
Beach Grove Park off-leash dog area, just east of Beach Grove Elementary school in Tsawwassen, offers a short stroll through winding wooded paths with plenty of brush for your dog to explore. If that doesn’t tire Fido out, you can leash up and enter the Boundary Bay Dyke Trail at the foot of 17A and Beach Grove Road for a long oceanfront trek.
Afterwards, relax with a coffee on one of Tsawwassen’s dog-friendly patios at the Beach Grove Café – a 15-minute walk from the park – or at l’Aromas, The Wood ‘n’ Frog, or Blenz in Tsawwassen’s main shopping district.
3. Huff Hydro Corridor, North Delta
Huff Hydro Corridor Park Reserve gives you and your BFF a roughly 2 km trail loop that is partially enclosed by fenced back yards. It runs over easy terrain under Hydro wires and on a good day, you can see downhill and out over the bog. At the end of your run, a treat and a visit to the dog wash station at Bosley’s on Scott Road might be just the ticket!
