Find the Magic of the Holidays in Delta, BC

Share

Some Christmas traditions in Delta, BC go back generations. The Carol Ships have sailed into Ladner Harbour every December since 1970. Santa still lights the tree in Ladner Village, the same streets you’ve seen in Hallmark movies. And each year, local families and businesses decorate a forest of 100 trees at Tsawwassen Springs for Delta Hospital.

Add Christmas markets in heritage barns and big, quiet skies, and you’ve got the magic of the season without the crowds. Get out your pen and start marking off your Delta, BC holiday calendar!

Where is Santa in Delta, BC?

The big guy can be tough to track down this time of year. Luckily, the elves have issued a few special statements on his whereabouts. He’ll, of course, be taking in the festivities at Delta’s tree lighting events, but for a one-on-one visit, you’ll want tickets to a Morning with Santa.

Sat, Dec 5 · 9:30 am to noon · North Delta Recreation Centre, 11415 84th Ave

The North Delta morning kicks off the holiday season with a sport zone and games, a public skate (skate rentals included), a bouncy castle, crafts and cookie decorating, all before your turn with Santa. Bring mittens and plan to stay a while. Last year’s event sold out, so book as soon as you can.

Sat, Dec 12 · 9:30 am to noon · South Delta Recreation Centre, 1720 56th St, Tsawwassen

The Tsawwassen morning brings Roaming Rascals, a bouncy castle, a public skate (skate rentals included), cookie decorating and crafts, all before a photo with Santa. Afterward, it’s a short drive to Centennial Beach for a crisp walk along Boundary Bay while the little ones wind down.
